Hongri (Richard) Gu

Richard joined HKUST in January 2025. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. in Micro and Nanosystems from ETH Zurich, working with Prof. Bradley J. Nelson, and was a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Clemens Bechinger at the University of Konstanz.

His work connects magnetic materials, soft and miniature robotics, collective dynamics and biomedical devices.
